The Volkswagen ID.4 and the Volvo XC 40 also intrigued me during my last car search. I asked the Mazda guy about the iD.4 during my test drive of the CX5 and he wasn’t quite sure about it, but talked for. About VW saying it’s a “niche brand” and not great. That wasn't why I didn’t entertain the idea if it though; it was more of the supply issue. It came down to the CX-5 and forester for me and I went with the forester for safety and visibility reasons. But it sounds like you’re looking just at fuel economy for now.

I pulled an Ashbeeigh today and ate at Mueller

Colleen’s to be specific… was actually pretty good. It’s been awhile since I’ve had some southern food.

Happy belated Birthday, but you made both me & my wife laugh. “Free sprinkles” indeed!

Pulling an ashbeeigh would be walking to Colleen’s from home. Which I have yet to do. I’ve walked to witchcraft, Halcyon, Veracruz, and the farmers market. Not Colleen’s yet.,

Drove through all the rain between Austin, Round Rock, Manor, Domain and Liberty Hill. Wasn’t great but we needed it. Hope more comes soon.

I wish we had EV’s like this in the U.S.

https://news.yahoo.com/chinese-compa...165012360.html

.. China really seems ahead in terms of practicality. The only issue is they don’t have the same safety standards we have so their cars tend to be more affordable and offer more on a feature level ..

I do wonder if the aftermarket will ever open up to modifications for liquid cooled batteries for faster charging and maybe solid state replacements (if they ever become available) for more range.

Random question - my brother is having his rent increased (no surprise) and they landlord is also asking for additional security deposit. I find the additional security deposit somewhat odd - he paid $500 in deposit when he moved in - like, 30 years ago - and it seems unnecessary (or just a cash grab) to ask for more. I suppose it is 'legal', but not sure. Also, I don't think that TX requires anything but the actual deposit back, regardless of current value of that money, but I assume they are allowed to invest it as they see fit? Over the last 30 years, that $500 would be somewhere around 8000 with the average S&P return rate.
