I have heard of these three...

Threadgills, Maria's Taco Xpress & Stubbs.

Which is the best, and why?

Also, I see on the Stubbs website that they recommend reservations. Anyone know how far in advance? And what about the other two? Walk in? Big wait?

Have the father in law coming into town tomorrow - we pick him up @ 10... so we were wanting to go after that.

I haven't been to any of them for that, but was talking to a lady in my neighborhood whose husband works for Threadgills and she said it's really busy during the Sunday Gospel Brunch, but she thinks it's worth it.

I would be hard pressed as to which one is the best, they all have their unique charms. I would choose in this order Threadgills, Maria's, Stubb's but really you can't go wrong with any of them.

What is the difference between Sunday Gospel Brunch and just regular Sunday Brunch? I must admit, I've never heard the term..

Live gospel music, during the brunch.

We went to Threadgill's! Definitely recommend it. SUPER good food (not one thing was iffy or bad), and great price. No wait for a table of 6, at 11am.

We tried catching the one at Threadgill's when my mother-in-law was in town, but the band had cancelled at the last minute so we missed out. Glad to hear that it is worth checking out.

Good to hear there was no wait, especially at that hour
