Hi, I'm moving to the Austin area for a job and was wondering about the area. I am looking for a home in the Austin-Round Rock area currently. I am considering purchasing a single family home or a condo and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on areas or subdivisions. Thanks much. Michelle

More info needed! What are your interests, what area of town are you going to be working, etc.

I'm going to be working in north Austin area in the 78759 zip code. I enjoy trail walking, parks, dining, shopping, and movies. I am looking to spend between $100,000-$175,000. I am considering either a condo or single family home. I would prefer the commute to be less than 30 miles.

Hi, hubby and I lived in Austin for a while, 78751 (Hyde Park at Hancock area); it is a great location, I always felt safe there...close to everything, not much traffic, bus routes, all we needed!

I agree that this is a good area, but just having purchased here, I'm not sure if you can get anything decent for under 200K. I'd like to be proven wrong though!

I would start in Andersom Mill and work my way out, staying north, northwest or northeast. There are homes and condos in that neighbhorhood in that price range and it has lots of parks.

Scofield Ridge Condominiums are really nice, about 135-190K. They are also building a similar community up the road off of parmer lane called Scofield Villas.

Anderson Mill/Cedar Park might have some real values for you that would offer the amenities you want and be a good commute.
