Might be a big job announcement if Tesla is either setting up a tech center here and/or building a GIGA Factory in and around Austin.

Interesting to see what is going to come up (if any)

They have a small engineering team here. Most likely they are expanding their AI H/w division here.

I think they need another factory. Some of the model 3s are being assembled in Fremont inside a tent :-)

California has not treated him well. So a plant in Austin or Tulsa the two rumored finalist could be a large phase I of more. Tulsa news is quoting Elon as indicating this plant will bring 10k jobs. Reason for it is to be closer to East Coast markets

Seems like these big corporations are starting use their value and importance to the city they are located in as a way to hold a city (or state) hostage by threatening to leave for another city if the city they are currently in doesn't do what they want them to do or give them what they want. Tesla is using the very same tactics the NFL uses when a team wants a new stadium.

This is why cities should not negotiate on price and should instead invest every penny in making the city an attractive place to live

short commutes
lots of parks
lots of museums
great public school education
low crime
etc
