Possibly looking to move to an area around Austin in a few years that is not in the city but outside the city with country type living with land..not familiar with the areas to look at. Would have to look at houses with land for under 120K. Any recommendations of where to look that we can still commute to Austin?

Bring a mobile home and you might be able to do that...might. A lot will depend on your definition of "land".

How much do you know about the area? Have you been here before? Why the central Texas área?

I'd be kind of surprised if that were even obtainable in Bastrop let alone Austin and its immediate suburbs. Heck even if you trippled your budget you would still have problems with the land factor unless thats all they were selling (no house).

I don't think you could find anything for that price.

you can still get acreage for not too much money. The problem is you can get 1 acre for 2K but you need to buy a lot of acres. For example tesla just bought 2200 acres for 5 million (about 2300/acre) at FM 969 and the 130 toll

Elgin and elroy still have relatively inexpensive land. I see 109K for 3 acres in elgin. You would need to do a mobile home to get close to your price range.

There is a pending sale on 2 acres on wilbarger creek for 78K which would let you do a small house.

there is a pending sale on 1.5 acres in cedar creek for 89K

go to austinhomesearch.com, select map view, more options, and switch to lot/land
