Care to point out the incorrect punctuation? Three punctuations were a period, the fourth was a question mark. Which made it "nearly impossible to understand"?. Heck, which was even wrong?

Thanksgiving should be moved to Columbus Day in solidarity with our Canadian brothers and sisters.

The only reason Thanksgiving is a month before Christmas is to kick off the profane, consumerist shopping season. (Yet I see Conservatives hypocritically sticking "Keep Christ in Christmas" magnets on their cars every holiday season as they go from store-to-store buying "Christmas" presents for almost everyone in their life currently.)

I guess it's to compensate for Austin only paying employees way more that other cities. And way more than state employees.

Our city council seems to want to not only match, but exceed Berkeley, Portland, and Seattle.

A race to the bottom.
They are not worried. It's "other people's money".

you can read about the history of thanksgiving as an official federal holiday. This occurred way before the current materialism of black friday etc.

Government jobs usually do have a pretty nice Holiday schedule be it at the Fed, State, County or Municipal level. The only difference between Fed and City of Austin is that Juneteenth in place of Columbus Day. Also, the city seems to have Christmas Eve as an official holday.
My Holidays: Xmas, New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving!
