Our family of 5 will be moving from a Boston suburb to an Austin suburb. We have a 6th grader, 3rd grader and toddler. We are looking specifically in the Bee Cave/Lake Pointe section of the Lake Travis ISD as traffic is something we’d like to limit. Our budget is up to $1.5m and are looking for a family-oriented community that has shared amenities like a pool. Our current neighborhood outside Boston has kids riding bikes, block parties, etc. and we’d love to find that same family friendly vibe. Any suggestions on communities that may fit what we seek? Thanks for your help!

For that much money, you should be looking in Eanes ISD. Senna Hills, Bella Montagne, Rob Roy, Davenport Ranch, Seven Oaks, etc. Look for access to Lake Austin - HUGE amenity if you can get it. Lake Austin properties are more expensive and exclusive than Lake Travis.

The areas in Lake Travis that fit the bill would be Rough Hollow or Signal Hill. I think those are the only neighborhoods with houses that expensive. Yes, they will be nice, but you will be buying in the top end of the city's price range at that point.

Thank you! What about Spanish Oaks or Lake Pointe? We looked in Eanes and were hard pressed to find much inventory under $1.5m (we need a 5 BR). Thanks again!

I think Spanish Oaks is in AISD. There are good private schools in the area though. There is an expensive part of Lakepointe that has homes around 1M.

Depending on the day, either near Rollingwood or into downtown Austin. Also, just don’t want to feel too far if we want to go into Austin for dinner. We are coming from a suburb, but very close to Boston and I’m looking for that same feeling of proximity to the city while still having the comforts of a yard and family community for the kids.

Westlake = Eanes ISD

It's the top district in the state.

No. It’s Lake Travis. https://www.spanishoaks.com/blog/cho...rivate-schools
