I have been looking to move to Dripping Springs for years now but I keep reading things that concern me. Mostly the high cost of living there (taxes, utility...). Most of the info online is dated. Can anyone living there give me current information. Please and Thank you.

I have read and heard that HighPointe and Belterra neighborhoods (both considered in Dripping Springs though they have Austin addresses) are in WCID and in addition to having high taxes, also charge residents outrageous bills for water coming in and water going out (sewage). Can anyone living in these areas give me some insight? I know this has been brought up before but all the information I'm finding online is from years ago. I'd like to know if water bills and utility bills are still high in 2020.

I also heard that HighPointe is in an ETJ so they may be charged differently than Belterra. I love Dripping Springs and have strongly considered moving my family to one of these two neighborhoods but I don't want to pay $600+ for water bills.

I'm also concerned about the propane issue in Belterra but I heard you can pay $5000+ to have a heat pump installed and by pass using the propane.

And I'm concerned that HighPointe has only one entrance and exit to the neighborhood. What happens if there is an emergency and you need to get out quickly?

Thank you for any insight.
