It's all over Texas, but not Austin. Anyone know why?

I used their service in another state & loved that I could watch my DVR'd shows on my laptop. You can't do that with AT&T UVerse or Time Warner Cable. You can with DirecTV, but I can't get that at my house.

Isn't that the merger of Comcast and time Warner? Maybe it just hasn't hit Texas yet. Getting time warner would give you the best bet of evtuwkly getting whatever services you want from xfinity.

The Comcast/Time Warner merger was called off in April of 2015.
Forbes Welcome

I believe TWC is now merging with Charter.

Comcast is only in greater Houston, no where else in Texas. Xfinity is a Comcast product

It's also a pretty saturated market between AT&T, Time Warner, Google, and Grande.

Based on some of the horror stories I've heard about Comcast, I'm glad they aren't here.

A few years back, Comcast bought Time Warner's Houston operation, which had been the cable monopoly for much of that area. Why they sold it, I dunno, and I was apprehensive about the effect of the change on me as a consumer. My guess is that they made a poorly informed decision that led them to abandon a lucrative market.

Looking back, I have no particular complaints about either operation, other than that Comcast's technical support is not very strong. Fortunately, however, I haven't needed to deal with it much.

Yes, you can. Call TWC and ask them.

Why can't you get DirectTV? I thought it was available everywhere.

Some homes can not get DirecTV due to tree's being in the way, etc.

We had DirecTV, the first year was fine, but the second year of the contract they doubled the price we had to cut our channel package in half.

Did not like when it rained, service went down every time.

Default Comcast/Xfinity is far superior to any service provided in Austin Texas

Comcast/Xfinity is far superior to AT&T, DirectTV, Grande or Time Warner. I had it for a number of years when I lived in Houston, I have it in Florida where I go for vacation and it far exceeds any other service. Why it is not in Austin to provide outstanding service when others do not, I do not know. If this is a free enterprise society Comcast Xfinity should be allowed to come into the Austin market or any other market to compete with other services. Perhaps some good competition like Comcast Xfinity would force the others to come up to the same standard. Austin TV subscribers are being totally ripped off.
