Sad to see Jennifer Virden lose (i was rooting for her as she was tough on homelessness) but Mackenzie Kelley won which would be welcome change to a leftist city council

So basically it's like Ellen Troxclair is back but in a different district.

One conservative is not going to make any difference, let’s be honest.

Homelessness is a big deal. That’s how she won. I’m pretty left of center, but if there were anything that would push me over the edge to vote for someone a bit more right, it would be homelessness. Something needs to change.

there is a bunch of interesting and salacious stuff about mckenzie kelley. Flannigan did a bad job of bringing it out. Kelley is basically a "cam girl" and has all kinds of raunchy and crazy forum posts.

I'll be honest, I can't even confirm who my city council person is right now since I moved. I think it's Pio Renteria, and I don't think he's very well loved. I can't wait for a city council election so I can learn a bit more about my new neighborhood. But, boy, that sounds fantastically scandalous and I can't wait for the **** show of city council this year. Again, something needs to be done about these hot topic things, and she did a better job at speaking to those. I have a friend in her district and she basically said, yesterday, "I'm not worried about him losing..." and boom. Of course she voted, but still.

As a longtime member of the raunchy website ShaggyBevo/Texas and its current iteration “Surly”, I can confirm that behavior from reading her posts about her “escapades”.
Yes, if Flannigan’s campaign had outed her history earlier and the electorate been more informed, she would have lost badly.

Having said that, she won’t be much of a factor as all the leftwingers on the current CC will vote her down. But it will be amusing to watch what she does and how it gets covered. The Chronicle should have fun with her, even though her cam girl background is right up their alley. Lol

I voted for Kelley mainly for her stand on the homeless issue. Even though I don't agree with most of decisions made from City Councils, but the decision to allow the homeless to live whatever they want has stroked me the most. I wished that we could replace every current city council with someone with common sense.
