I love the temperature today...I can thaw out my creaky bones now . I don't really get sick of the heat until August or so, usually.

Most of my family lives in Florida - I did for 7 years - and I can't for the life of me figure out how in the heck they stand the humidity! But you're right - a lot of people are one extreme or the other. Never met anyone who liked both. I always wondered though about those places that have year round temperate weather, like Hawaii or California - doesn't it ever get boring?

I was born and raised in Texas and just moved to Austin from north east Texas. I am use to the hot summers. Even though the heat makes me miserable sometimes, I hate the cold, and I can tolerate the heat a lot better.

YES! I have lived in both So Cal and Hawaii...and while people don't believe me, the weather does get BORING, particularly Hawaii. Escape from Hawaii is an expensive 5 hour plane ride. At least in So Cal, you can drive up into the mtns. I have told people that I like Hawaii and it was a lovely experience, but I could never go back and live there. Some people who move there from the mainland get "island fever" - a feeling of isolation and stagnancy - you're so far away from anything different and the weather is very predictable.

Hey hey! I moved here February of 2000 from San Francisco I thought it was miserable then. I got a hard dose of reality shortly thereafter!

LAst 2 Summers were awesome! Last Summer was perfect.

The only time the heat really bothers me is when I'm out trying to enjoy a festival like ACL or the Hot Sauce Festival. I'm still not sure why someone thought the end of August was a good time to have a Hot Sauce festival in Austin.

I LOVE IT!! It doesn't even seem that hot to me.

I spent the entire day outside with my friend, doing each other's plant beds. We started a little after 9am and I am now in for some water and a break - but I am about to go mow my lawn.

It's not that bad right now. I like the cool mornings and a nice afternoon warm up. Ask me again in August - it's our turn to suffer. I'll take this any day over snow.

Someone mentioned ACL - they moved it to the 26-28th of September, which means we have 50% chance of it being hot or maybe cool off.

Off to water my hanging plants since we in Austin are now under mandatory yard watering rules.
