Hi everyone,

I will be graduating college and moving to Austin in August for a job, but I have no idea what part I should live?

I would like to preferably live in an apartment/condo aside from an enormous complex. I was wondering what the best neighborhoods for young professionals are so that I could start my search?
Perhaps something trendy and walkable.
I heard about an area called SoCo? but I'm not sure where exactly that is or what other places there maybe.

Thank you for all your help,

Erin

Hi, I recommend west of I-35; my husband and I used to live in 78751. There were very big complexes but there were also some small ones which looked good to us. It is a good neighborhood. Conveniently located and safe. Hope this helps!

I've been in Austin for 7 years and have lived in the 78704 zip code the whole time. Which includes South Congress (SoCo). Personally, I think from Town Lake to Ben White, around South Congress and South First is a great area to live. In between South First and South Lamar is good too. The most things you can walk to are close in to South Congress, in between Town Lake and Oltorf. But the movement of walkable options is moving further south on Congress and is pretty good off of South First too.
