You have one of the best roads in Austin area Lime Creek, close enough to hit the Damm Loop, and far enough out to enjoy rides to Bertram or Andice. Cedar Park is a wonderful hub for a lot of great rides. I only wish there was a REAL mountain bike trail.

I heard something about Brushy Creek getting a make-over. Not sure if its BS or not though.

They might have something planning in Brushy Creek, but I seriously doubt the people that make the decisions for Cedar Park actually make a bike trail the a cyclist would enjoy. My guess is that they make a trail that is less than 3 miles long and has a difficulty level a 1st grader could ride. The type of trail I am talking about is one that is is a loop of over 6 or 7 miles long built by a trail building group that is hired to build a MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAil. Walnut Creek has over 15 miles of single track. The Greenbelt out of Zilker has over 30 miles of single track. Emma Long Park has a trail close to it that is a 6 mile loop of technical riding (takes over an hour to do a lap, and that's a fast cyclist).

I have heard that some type of trail might be in the works out here that runs along the same path that the trains run on and goes from the Brushy creek area to the South San Gabriel River.

I actually spend more time at the GB and Thumper. There is a nice ride that leaves from BB Rovers off of Jollyville at 6pm on every Thursday. It's about a 20 minute chilled ride to the trail head and the trail takes about 1.25 hours. This trail is actually very technical, but flows well. I would say that if you hate City Park, you might not like Thumper. I'm gonna be there tommorow. I'll be one of the only guys riding hard tail. a Moots.
