Hello all- I'm a longtime Austinite but am wracking my brain trying to come up with a nice place to take young children to swim at Lake Austin/Travis. Ideally water would be shallow enough for them to wade in (so the coves at Pace Bend are out, they almost immediately are deep), and not too heavily trafficked by boats (as the area on the peninsula of Pace bend is--although it does have shallow bits). Where would you advise?

Lakeway Park is a great suggestion and they have a really nice playscape for the kids too.

Also, there is Volente Beach, but I'm not sure how much the admission is, but it sounds really nice.

Westlake Beach is another little hidden gem on Lake Austin.

It's a full waterpark - so admission is like $18-19 per person.
