I realize that Leander is just north of Cedar Park, but I am having a hard time finding where the city line is located between the two? We are trying to make sure we stay within Cedar Park (and not go into Leander). What road or division signifies where leander starts and cedar park ends?

Thanks!

Don't feel bad - sometimes even real estate agents have to look it up to be sure! Our boundaries here in Central Texas seem to be somewhat meandering at times.

There's a map here (http://www.cedarparktx.us/cp/page92713130.aspx - broken link)that might explain why it's so hard to figure out sometimes.

Thanks for the map. So that map is just Cedar park (not leander)?

We are looking at some homes just north of Whitestone Blvd. by a few blocks, is that still Cedar Park area or Leander?

Thanks again!

If it's north of Whitestone (1431), chances are it's in Leander but I'd need to know the names of the streets to be sure. I have a client who's buying a house a block or two south of Whitestone, and it's definitely in Cedar Park, but I believe it changes right about there.

Depends where along 1431 (Whitestone) you are talking about. At Lakeline you are in Cedar Park, all the way past New Hope for a few more blocks. Why does it matter if you are Cedar Park or Leander? Same school district, same cedar trees, same traffic.

Default I'm so confused!

Huh. I have been using a site called Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitors sites is not allowed to compare things like climate, crime rate, property tax rate, etc.

According to that site, the property tax rates are the same for Leander and Cedar Park.

Is that not true?

Looking at kingugly's link, the difference is not that much. About a penny per 100 of valuation. So on a $200,000 house, that'd be less than $17 a month. It changes from year to year so who knows what the rates will be in a few years as they both get more retail.

Trash pick-up in Cedar Park is a bit over $16 a month (if you don't have extra stuff). In Leander, its $10.83 a month and there's no charge for bulky stuff, limbs, extra can, whatever. Both have free recycling. Leander water may be more, but I haven't crunched the numbers.
