and about time too!

Look for a major addition of bus stock, as they are unfortunately overwhelmed by demand, as people wait in brutal heat 20-30 minutes for A/C buses.....thank god Austinites are finally ditching their cars in droves!

At least the buses are improving their routes. Now if the Trains would expand. They're even getting a bus route in RR.

This is a good thing. We're going to experiment with bus riding to school this fall!

I looked into this, unfortunately for me, it's not feasible. I have a ~20 minute commute, but it would take ~2 hours each way/~4 hours per day by bus. About 1 hour/day would be spent walking to/from the bus stop.

I've been told that if you contact CapMetro with an idea for a new route, they will test it if enough folks request it...

Yeah, riding the bus to work is really only feasible if you live a certain distance from work. I live about 6 or 7 miles from work (~15 minute commute each way), so the time spent getting to the stop, then riding the bus, then getting from the stop to the office, and then reverse all this at the end of the day, would not really make sense for me. I don't know what the break-even time/distance would be, but it is probably around 45 minute and up commute, I would guess....
