Wow, that's awesome! Glad they have joined the ranks of other employers who have also instituted a program/smoking ban such as this.

Yay for discounted insurance premiums!!

I was reading an article about something similar in Japan!
Can you imagine if they tried to implement this in the US

They really SHOULD implement that in the U.S. We are the fattest country in the world and it's only getting worse. It's especially sad to see all of the little kids that are overweight/obese.... their parents should be charged for child abuse.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea to implement but I can only imagine the law suits that would follow.......

In addition to the non smoker discount, it would be nice to get a 'good physical shape' discount, too!!

I think it's great to get people to stop smoking, but horrible because then corporations are cutting into your rights to do what you want in your own home. This is no better to me than warrantless wiretapping is to some. And they will make you diet and quit smoking, but what about drinking? I can't imagine that won't pop up some time or other.

Dell Inc. is giving its U.S. employees who smoke a deadline to quit--at least at work.

Dell is not saying that their employees have to quit smoking at home, just work. I thought most all companies prohibited smoking in their work places. Certainly, they have the right to do so.

I posted that before I actually read the link. I don't quite have a problem with that policy but I've heard that some companies do or have thought of getting a way more invasive plan.
