We have tubed the San Marcos many times (as well as the other area rivers). I have never seen anyone partying, flashing, etc. on the San Marcos, only on the Guadalupe.

I tubed the Guadelupe last spring with some friends (when the water level was high) and will NEVER do that again. I almost drowned in the first rapid (got sucked under) and ended up with several bruises from two other rapids from that float. I could hardly walk the next day. I've tubed it 3 other times when the water level was low and it was WAY different. Still; I'm too old for that.

The slow San Marcos River is more my speed.

I have been just a couple times, but I had no problem at all with the crowd or the river itself. It was slow, relaxing, and safe, and people seemed nice.
