Any ideas for fun things to do in Austin for teens aged 13-15?

All ideas welcome .... maybe somewhere they can be dropped off and left in safety.

Or something for adults too that won't bore the pants off mom & dad

We have a list of all the bigger attractions (Sea World, Schlitterbahn, Volente etc) but looking for some local fun too....thanks!

Thanks for those - is Dave & Busters OK for teens? I thought it was adult gaming (and expensive) - do they have kids' options???

It can be somewhat expensive, but it is good for all ages.

Might try Blazer tag (adults can play too!) or the Austin Climbing Gym (I think that is the name).

I think Main Event might be better for teens than Dave & Buster's.

Blazer Tag Adventure Center - Austin, TX

Depending on taste, perhaps the shops and restaurants along S. Congress, and S. 1st might appeal. A hike along the greenbelt? A dip in Barton Springs or Deep Eddy?

thanks for that! we'll save the outdoor stuff for late afternoons I think - kids are visiting from UK and not acclimatised to the HEAT yet...!!!

Any opinions on laser tag - better at Main Event or Blazer....?

How about staying cool watching live theater performed by teens (high school and college)? Can't beat the music and Americana of Oklahoma!

Oh, and if you don't mind some evening heat, Beauty and the Beast at the Zilker Hillside Theater. Great production! We went and saw it last weekend, and as long as you bring a 'beach' height chair (<30", I think), you can use it to stay a little off the ground and waaaay cooler. It was a quite comfortable temperature last weekend. And Gaston looks like he just walked right out of the animated movie.....
