Hi all

I'm taking family out in Austin and we have an age range of 13 thru 60!

Is Antone's OK for those who don't like their music toooo loud? Are there tables or just standing?

And is it over 21's only?

(their website's not v informative - I have looked!)

thanks!!

It's not a place for under 21. There is no seating except in the VIP section upstairs and that's by invitation only. It's basically a small space that has a bar, a stage, and the floor to stand on. I love it but I wouldn't take kids or older family there.

Antone's is a great live music venue. Honestly, I just went to see Ian McLagan and the Bump Band there, and I would've been fine with taking my 12 and 15 year old nieces to that particular show. (LOVE Ian - catch him and the Bumps at the Lucky Lounge on Thursdays for early happy hour!)

I *think* if you check Antone's website for gigs, they'll tell you if it's an all-ages show or not.

We saw a show with the 60-yr-old lady and it was fantastic.

They have an all age policy there for all shows. There were quite a few kids there, but I don't think I'd take a kid younger than 10 - it's v loud and v crowded.

My friend suffers from problems standing for long periods and the door staff brought her a chair to sit by the stage! Amazingly nice of them, as it was sold out and packed full.
