We've heard the lament for years: Austin isn't what it used to be. So dramatically has the city changed since its mellow, college town days that we need a campaign to "keep Austin weird."

In the past decade, we've seen whole new neighborhoods develop and others fade. We've watched condo towers obscure downtown's most visible landmark, the state Capitol dome; subdivisions sprawl in pasture land miles away, and shopping malls sprout in what used to be the country.
