“I’m a little shocked,” Lance told The Statesman. “There’s no justification for that much water.” He added, “I need to fix this.”

He's only apologetic because he got busted. Look at all that green grass. How many people right now have lawns that green besides golf courses or people cheating on their watering days? That's like Al Gore blowing all his hot air and having enormous electric bills and flying a private jet everywhere.

I can't believe he used that much water and wasn't even living there the entire month.

He's shocked just like he was shocked that he was damaging Dead Man's Hole.

if you do, you need a life. The new yawk times needs to worry about issues in new yawk, not at lance's house.

Im pretty sure lance told them to stick it..

How about the same article in the Austin American-Statesman?

We live on a small ranch (about 55 acres). We water our animals. Only water the lawn immediately after mowing it, and try to mow when rain is predicted so we don't even need to do that. We do water the vegetable garden, using the house right by the base of each plant (small garden). We use, for all of that and our personal household uses, I figured out, about 2% of the water in a month that Lance does.

Given that we're in the middle of a dry stretch, and that all of us are having to conserve water, I'd say that this is our concern and that of those who are conserving for the sake of all of us.

You would care if you lived in Austin and couldn't water anything but once a week, or once every 2 weeks and on top of that, the threat of having your meter turned off if you go over. I don't know how the New York Times decided it was relavent to NY, unless Lances management company for his house was based in NY and not in Austin. You'd think someone who was based here would know better.

I think Lance needs to go to the Re-education camps.

We had a similar list published in San Antonio a while back.
