Do you participate in City Hall politics at all? If I could add a poll, it would have these options:

1 "no: I pretend it is not there and I don't vote in local elections."
2 "no: I complain all the time even though I don't have time to vote."
3 "yes: I check the news and I vote."
4 "yes, I vote and occasionally contact city hall or write a letter"
5 "yes, I am active on my issues and I occasionally attend a public meeting."
6 "yes, I register myself to speak on issues I care about"
7 "yes, I am on a city commission or hold other office"

#4 for Leander. I've called city hall and chatted with the mayor before.

I guess I'm somewhere between 5-7! I vote, participate in my neighborhood association and I'm part of a contact team that votes on changes to our neighborhood plan (required by the city), I have signed up to speak on issues at City Hall, I write letters, and I regularly watch City Council on channel 6!

yes, I'm geek. And all in the City of Austin.
