Get a wrist band as soon as you can - they are expensive, these days, but helps a lot getting into what you want to get in to.

Also, book a hotel waaaaay in adavance. Every room in the city, and some in the surrounding areas, fill up.

Actually, if you are just coming for movies and not music, movies are fairly easy to get into. You can buy a film pass for around $50 I think which lets you into all the movies behind the badge holders. As long as the screening isn't super popular and you get there early enough, you'll get in.

Is there any way to know ahead of time which movies are going to be the popular ones?? Elvis & Anabelle looks interesting, but it's on Gala night, along with some others that I want to see- what are the odds that a film pass will get me into some of these??

If the film is at the Paramount, you can usually get in with the pass as long as you get in the pass line EARLY. Get there at least an hour before showtime if it is a popular movie. If the film has already screened once at the fest, and it doesn't have any stars, you are almost guaranteed to get in with the pass.

Hello all,

I plan on attending South By Southwest so I have been looking for information and advice and what not. Thus far, this forum has been very helpful. I checked out the site for Elvis and Anabelle and it looks great, I definitely plan on checking it out. I came across this trailer and I wondered what everyone else thought.

Default where and when is the film pass?

I can't find a thing on the net about how to actually get a film pass (not badge) What am I missing here? I did sign up for the text msg updates for music wristbands. Is that good enough? Do the wristbands and passes go on sale at the same time or can I just walk into Waterloo and buy a pass?
Thanks.

Unlike wristbands, film passes are easy to get. You can just walk up to the film area (usually in the convention center) and get one the day the fest starts.
