Does anyone have any recommendations for a good adult ballet/tap class? I am looking for something for the beginner, more for fun and fitness than anything else. And relatively near the Round Rock, GT area.....thanks

The most exciting place to dance in Austin is Butler Community Center. It is the home of BALLET AUSTIN. There is a fantastic tap teacher named Danny Herman. He has an amazing resume that includes 15 yrs on Broadway in A CHORUS LINE. He is LOVED by all who know him and take his classes. My daughter dances at Ballet Austin Academy and has taken classes with the community center. It is convenient in location and a comfortable place to spend time. There are also so many other interesting classes offered. You can choose from such classes as hula, broadway fit, jazz, pilates, flamenco etc.. Give it a try!

My wife takes open ballet and modern classes at the new Ballet Austin building downtown. She loves it. She buys a card seasonally and can use it for any open classes they offer. It isn't up in your part of town though

Default Texas Academy of Ballet

There is adult ballet classes in the Texas Academy of Ballet centre located on fm685 in Pflugerville.

You can take the 130 from Georgetown easily (Exit Kelly lane) or the 45 from Roundrock (Exit Kelly Lane).

Prices are reasonable & is close to you.

I have just moved to Round Rock and I'm searching for an intermediate level ballet class for adults. Any suggestions? I hear good things about Ballet Austin but that's too far a drive for me given I have young children at home.

Also, any good ballet studio suggestion for kids? (preschoolers--so mainly for fun, but would like to keep good studios in mind in case they become more serious when they are older). Thanks.

For children, I recommend Dancer's Workshop. My child has taken classes there for the past 8 years or so. We have liked it better than any studio we've tried, through two daughters over a span of many years in Austin. If your child becomes a serious dancer, DW has a company he or she can try out for eventually. It's fun, and challenging if you want it to be. Many students from DW go on to bigger and better things in a dance career.

I think the best place to dance in Round Rock is the Dance Spot.

The very best place in Austin for tap is Tapestry, but unfortunately they are in southwest Austin, and too far from Roundrock.
