Hi,

I am trying to make bread like my mom used to make. It is so good it makes Great Harvest taste like wonder bread. I think she used hard winter white whole wheat and then grind it into flour. Does anyone know where this is available? I can't find a Bosch Kitchen Center in Austin either. Does anyone know if Austin has a similar type of store which specializes in mixers and bread making? Thanks so much for helping a newbie.

You might try Wheatsville Co-op on Guadalupe. They have an extensive collection of grains. If they don't have it, they can probably tell you where to get it.

Check out Faraday's Kitchen Store for mixers:

I think I have seen a couple of kinds of wheat at Sun Harvest. You could give them a call. And although not the best option, I would assume that Whole Foods would carry some as well.

Default wheatsville

i just called Wheatsville and apparently they do carry wheat berries, unground, fresh and ready for your grinder.
