I see online as $39 or $26 for 13 weeks respectively, which doesn't feel too hot.

Ahhh, forever gone the days when the Chicago Tribune would practically pay me for a subscription (after incentives).

Thanks to any responses on the subject at hand.

How to find when they do this I have no idea, but we randomly ran into them selling subscriptions at HEB once in April. We got a Sunday only subscription for 13 weeks at $1.60/issue. Wish we had gotten longer as the subscription expired and we haven't seen them doing this anywhere ever since.

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes peeled at HEB. In San Antonio, I caught them at Big Lots, but the best deal was probably the door to door kid that came. For now, I'll hit up the vending machine near me.

We were actually going to let our subscription to the Sunday paper run out in a week or two, but then somebody came door to door today and offered us 7 days/week, 52 weeks for $2.35 per week. $122 total. They must be hurting for subscriptions like the rest of the newspaper industry.

I'll bet if you call them up, you can get the same deal. If not, I've got the number of the guy (for next year) if they say no dice. PM me.

I was going to cancel my daily subscription (I was doing a lot more recycling than reading), but they offered Sunday only for $6 per 4 or 5 weeks (can't really remember)... anyway, it was cheap enough that I decided to keep Sunday only service.

I am keeping my seven day a week subscription to the Statesman (for local news that I can't get other places) and because their website is awkward and harder to navigate than most.

But I am steeling myself to give up my 7 day subscription to the New York Times, sigh. The cost is too high ($188 a quarter) and I can read for free on the web. But I feel like I am killing something dear to me . . . I love real paper newspapers!

sigh
