Thanks for all the good bbq places! I went to Mann's bbq last night. The meat was cooked well, could have been seasoned a little better and I did not care for the sauce. They did give free homemade ice cream which was a plus. The macaroni and cheese was great! I would go back there for the mac and cheese but next time get a sandwich with the brisket. I am planning on visiting the Salt lick since so many people mentioned that one that wil be next on my list.

Rudy's is okay for a quick BBQ fix.

But I do prefer their breakfast tacos.

Rudy's is good for a quick meal, takeout or a crowd. Their BBQ isn't bad per se - some of it is pretty tasty, like the turkey and pork tenderloin. But, most BBQ enthusiasts judge a BBQ joint by its brisket. Rudy's is flavorful and tender enough, but a little bit salty for my taste. Same with their pork ribs. Still though, I pick it up sometimes on the way home so it's not all bad.

I actually like Pokejos - their sides are good, esp the mac and cheese, and their BBQ is decent.

County Line is more for the dining experience than the brisket but their beef ribs rock! Actually, my favorite thing to get at CL on-the-hill is the grilled chicken breast, go figure!

About what mile marker and is it on the north or south bound side? I need to go try it!

Coming from Austin, take the exit for the HEB Plus on the north side of Kyle (#215 I think) and go past it on the frontage road a ways and it'll be on the right...westside of I35.
