We're moving to Austin in just a bit over a month and will need to purchase a good chunk of furniture for several rooms in the new house. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a wholesale (or similar type) furniture supplier. I don't want "cheap" (poorly-made) furniture, but don't want to break the bank either since we have to buy multiple pieces. Our existing furniture would maybe be considered "traditional" in that most of it is antique dark wood (thank you grandma). We also have some new dark leather furniture. Anyway, we're probably going to need a bedroom set (bed, nightstands, dresser maybe) and living room furniture (couch, love seat, chair, end tables, coffee table etc...)

Any suggestions?

There's a bunch of used furniture places around town. Check rent-a-center or Austin furniture brokers. good luck!

Furniture Market is where we ended up getting our bedroom set and dining room table. They have two locations, but the location at I35 and Rundberg has a better showroom. They will give you a bit of a discount on the price if you ask, especially if you buy multiple items. They were definitely cheaper than places like Ashley, Roomstore, and Rooms To Go, but we ended up getting a piece or two from those places as well.

Keep in mind that some of these places take a while for you to actually get your furniture. We saved a lot of money at Furniture Market, but a couple items in our bedroom set had to be ordered and took about 4 weeks to get.

Four Hands has cool stuff if you can catch them during their warehouse sales. THere's also Pottery Barn Outlet in San Marcos where their furniture is typically 50% off the retail price.

Good suggestions so far. I also like Furniture Row and Gage.

I'm still new to the area, but I want to thank you for not using 'cheap'.

This is overlooked so often, it'll likely become synonomous with 'inexpensive' and they are two wholly different properties.

Kinda like 'fast' and 'quick'. Fast is speed. Quick is how rapidly something can get to a speed.

The English police will now be quiet....

Try Home Consignment Center for inexpensive, quality furniture and accessories.

We usually go to louis shanks when they have half off sales or buy one get 50% off. Your best bet is to go to north carolina, buy and drive it back. If you are doing multiple rooms you can save 20K.

Mid range furniture stores are places like bassett. I typically would only ever buy during a sale or check craigslist.
