It looks like we are focusing in on Circle C. From talking to people, I understand that Circle C plans to open a middle school in fall '09.
How do you think this will effect Bailey?
If you were buying in CCR, would you go west of escarpment to ensure you get into the new middle school?

Thanks for any information!!

What data do you have that tells you the dividing line will be Escarpment? My understanding is that the boundaries have not been determined.

I think Bailey will remain a good middle school even if it does lose students from Circle C. Shady Hollow is a solid neighborhood and a primary feeder of Baily.

Steve

No data at all, just rumor. I just moved here so I am trying to get as much information as I can before buying a house in Circle C.

Shady Hollow resident here. AISD's task force has a page here (http://www.austinisd.org/inside/2004bond/boundaries/swmiddleschool.phtml - broken link) with meeting minutes and so forth. It appears that a proposed plan was decided last month that puts all of CC attending the new middle school. Other details: Sendera south of Slaughter Lane is switched from Covington to Bailey; some neighborhoods (Bauerle Ranch?) west of Manchaca change from Paredes to Bailey (a definite step up for them, don't know the implications for Bailey MS)

That's what I've heard. All of Kiker and Clayton and some of Mills will attend the new middle school. I was told this by an AISD rep who was manning a booth for AISD at Realty Roundup last month. She did say though that it's not final, but that this was where things looked like they were heading.

Yeah, the local Oakhill paper had some article on the new school a month or so ago. About 90% of Mills would go to the new middle school, the other 10% or so would keep going to Clint Small.

ncet, if you can wait for the final boundary is better. For sure, if you move to Clayton area your children will come up in new MS.

I'm hearing now the yelling between Mills and Kiker's parents. Mills wants the plan that its whole school goes to new MS, and Kiker doesn't like its school splits between Bailey and new one either.

Small and Bailey are both good schools now.
