My mother is wanting to remodel her kitchen. The one she has currently is a snapshot from 1972. Ugly, worn and outdated.

She is seeking a quality and trustworthy "turnkey" remodeler that will handle the operations, from design ideas to completion.

Any recommendations for a reputable, full-service kitchen remodeling business in the Austin area? Firsthand experience would be immensely valuable to us!

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I highly recommend Two Brothers Construction here in Georgetown. Here's a link to their website Two Brothers Construction » Home. I also happen to know their tile guy is top notch. (That's me)

Call Rick at HomeFixers.com.
Tell him Steve sent you.

There are a lot of things to consider when doing a major remodel, such as whether or not it makes sense to upgrade some other aspects of the home simultaneously, and whether this remodel represents a first stage of future upgrading.

The reason it's important to think this all through is that we see, in real estate sales, a lot of disjointed upgrades to homes which, in the end, hurt the value rather than help it. Kitchen remodel is done with one type of tile, bathrooms later done with different look, hodgepodge of fixture replacements throughout, appliances that don't match, etc. Often we see this done on top of dangerously outdated electrical and plumbing components.

So, what starts with "I sure would like a nicer kitchen" should be acted upon with a more wholistic approach to improving the home and bringing it up to date. This will dictate whether the home is later viewed as well upgraded home or a mishmash of disconnected projects.

Good Luck

Steve
