Currently in Des Moines, Iowa and recently visited Austin for the first time and loved it. I am thinking about possibly moving there.

What are are pros and cons of Austin? Are there alot of single women my age there or are they mostly college students?

I am curious as to what other people my age think of Austin ??????????????

I too was in your shoes and asked a ton of people the same question. the overwhelming response is there are alot of hot cool chicks in Austin. Im a musician and a professional/exec among other things so other musicians told me that it is alot of fun and top music acts cost pennies on the dollar! Needless to say I said sign me up. Im moving there in 3 weeks.

I would definitly make the move to Austin if I were you. It's a great city. You'll love it I swear. But If I was really you, I would pack my bags, get out of Iowa (was it??), and take my behind to California. But you know, that's if I was you. But since I'm not, it's totally up to you. And like I said before, Austin is great.

Well I can tell you the big difference between Houston and Austin. Houston has a very country feel to it. A very going-home-down-south feeling. I don't really like Houston. Too much crime. Austin has a very college atmosphere to it. Everyone is all about UT Austin or whatever and I guess that's cool. That wasn't my primary concern when I went.

Austin is left wing hippie land. if ur there ur either a politian, techie/computers, or a musician. Aint like that in the other cities in tx! 50k+ students at UT! there are lots of hot chicks in any of the three - maybe more of the stuck up rich chick types/golddiggers in Dallas.

That's stupid! Where did you get your statistics from? That little 80s tv show that used to come on? How do know how many golddiggers there are in Dallas? You can't just say this and that just because when you went, that's what happened. I mean, I'm not from Dallas but I wouldn't bash it like that.
