I'd like to go out some day this week to see the Christmas lights, Zilker park tree, 37th st, etc...

Any suggestions/recommendations?

How do I get to the Zilker park tree? Exactly where, on 37th st, should I be going to? What about the Trail of Lights?

Maps, directions, suggestions would all be appreciated.

Thanks!

37th Street Lights starts at 37th Street and Guadalupe and heads east. You won't be able to miss it, though you may have to park a bit away. (Walk it, don't drive it, because some of the best displays in past have been in back yards that you get to walk through.)

Both the Trail of Lights and the Zilker Park Tree are in Zilker Park. Here's information on the shuttle and where to catch it.

I thought that 37th Street was essential over? Folks moved on and lights have declined?

Tell me the current status, that used to be my very favorite part of Christmas in Austin.

I don't know what the actual status is this year, but I do know that the new people last year said that they were going to be working to get "up to speed" with the street.

Anybody been yet this year? I was thinking of going next week after my daughter and her SO are in town.

Edited: I just went and did a quick google and one review on Yelp as of Friday says that it's not as spectacular as years past but definitely worth going.
