Actually it was an upscale neighborhood. There is page after page of rules and regulations. Boy, am I glad I can read the HOA's online! Ah, but the house was beautiful! I almost bit. But we are going to run from it. To each his/her own. It just wasn't for us. The HOA's are creepin me out.

That makes me think of a Bentley Little horror novel called The Association.

Do a home search for sunset canyon subdivision in Dripping Springs. Zip code 78620. There are 4 brand new homes just finished construction on our street and several more for sale in the area. Country living close to what you need.

Not sure what your price range is, but if you almost bit on a house in an upscale subdivision, these houses should easily be in your price range.

I can't get over this fascination with fireplaces. I grew up in Europe and we had REAL fireplaces, not the play ones you see here. Of course, when I was small, we didn't have central heating. We only got central heating when I was about 18, and my mother inherited some money. You can be sure the fireplaces weren't used after that! Believe me there is NOTHING romantic about cleaning out a fireplace the next morning. If you've ever had to do that, you won't want a fireplace!

Apart from that, the Williamson Central Assessment District adds about $800 to my assessed value thanks to my fireplace here. All the fireplace does is cause drafts.

I'm sorry if I've portrayed a highfalutin image. It's all relative. What one considers upscale another considers down wind. I can tell you this: our price range isn't 3 or 4K. I did a search on that zip and yes, they are absolutely beautiful homes...no argument there. I do thank you for the suggestion though. I learned something....mostly what is high scale here is not high scale there. Oh well. Perhaps I could pour water all over my computer so I'll stay away from the search seeing how little self control I seem to have over it. What can I say? I've reached the insane stage.

Stand up and back away from the keyboard, slowly.
