Since I am not supposed to advertise on this site I have a question for you all. What would be the best way to get the word out that I am starting ballet/tap and gymnastics classes at a Taekwondo studio on Friday mornings for pre-schoolers? I currently teach at 10 different private, church and montessori schools, but this will be the first location that I am bringing children in to the center, so I am not sure the best way to go about this. Do you all know of any websites or magazines that would be good to get the word out in? Thank you for your help!

Look into parentwise magazines and Austin Family magazines. You can find them at bookstores.

Where will it be located? If it's in or near a large subdivision (or two) they usually have their own newsletters and even bulletin boards near mailboxes (in other words, free). They may also have a website that they may let you put a little blurb on. Or they could have subdivision events (Easter Egg Hunt, etc.) that you could participate in - like donate a prize or come up with game (how many jellybeans in the jar kind of thing) - that would allow you to pass out flyers or coupons.

I'm in Steiner Ranch, and whenever a new business opens up, that's what they do. All of the businesses in Steiner are actually locally owned (many by Steiner Residents), and people here are usually more than happy to try to support them.

Also Austin Kids Directory. They are all free papers handed out a local children's services/dr offices, etc. Also try Community Impact papers if they have one for your area (I know they have ones for CP/L and RR/Pflugerville).

There are tons of organizations for SAHMs in the area - MOMS Club®, MOPS®, Austin Preschool Mothers Club, Moms of Multiples, etc. Contact the chapters in your vicinity and ask to advertise in their newsletter. Most have a small fee, or may barter in exchange for a sample class for their members.
