I used the guys from Roofing Systems of Texas. They were very knowledgeable, true to their word, and were flexible with my schedule. I was impressed enough to recommend them to my neighbors who were also skeptical about this whole process, and they all seemed very satisfied with their decision.

I can't recommmend Armadillo Roofing enough. The owner, Mark Franz has such a great reputation for being honest. When I had problems with my roofer, he came out, did a free inspection, took 75 photos, spent a LONG time writing a report, then said, "call your previous roofer because this should still be under warranty. This report should help you." Have you ever heard of a contractor doing that???

Mitchell Construction did our roof last year (and many of our neighbors too). Very satisfied.

That's funny, because they scammed me by writing up an estimate and then demanding additional money after the fact (more than insurance paid me, despite the promises on their website.)

I would never, ever, ever let someone make the mistake of using that company after what they did to me.

I have always been very satisfied with his work and prices.
I was especially impressed with Henry Meyer when I first contacted him about reroofing my first house, he came out and looked at it and told me that I didn't need to reroof the house yet, I could probably wait 2 or 3 years more before doing it. I did, and give him the job a few years later
I'm a sales rep for a local Austin roofing company. I am also an insurance adjuster and have worked storm claims for over 5 years. Now that I am selling roofs and on the other side of the measuring tape, I am dealing with home owners in a new way; SELLING. It just blows me away how so many people want a "bid" on their roof. Our contracts read that we agree to do the work for what the insurance company pays. This allows us to supplement the claim for additional damage and/or insufficient pricing from the insurance company. It gives us the opportunity to make a fair profit on the job and still help YOU with your deductible. So far, most people I have met want me to eat their deductible AND give them a lowball price. How does that even begin to make sense? This hail storm is not a charity ball. We roofers are not out to rip anyone off, and the insuranc companies are the last people to OVER PAY anyone. So please explain how it makes sound business sense for us to do all this and that for FREE!?!?!?! Then everyone wants three bids b/c their insurance company told them so. Don;t you get it!?!? The insurance company wants you to believe that they're looking out for you! THEY ARE NOT! I USED TO WORK FOR THEM. I KNOW! They want to tell you that the cheapest bid is the one you have to use. Not even this will make sense to you....will it?
I took bids to reroof my house because it needed it. There was no hail damage or insurance company involved. It appears you have over-reacted here just a little bid don't you think?

Wow...I know of quite a few people that have not only used Mark but also continue to use him. His reputation is spot on and they are known for their honesty and integrity. I am wondering if maybe you had an issue with someone else...

I just had my roof replaced due to hail damage. Ranger Roofing and Construction did it. Very fair prices and a great job!

I didn't pay a dime for it. My insurance totally covered it, and I ended up with a little bit of money left over in my pocket - can't beat that!

I agree about not using Armadillo Roofing. They claim to have been in business since 1975 which can't be true. The BBB says they didn't incoporate until April 2006.

It says on their website Armadillo Roofing and Exteriors - Process

Mark graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and worked for Fortune 500 Companies for over 20 years in the capacities of Operations Manager & Facilities Manager…right here in Austin!
So if he was say 22 when he graduated from UT and then worked for 20 years before starting Armadillo Roofing in 1975 he would have to be 76 years old which he isn't.

If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck it must be a duck.

I don't know anything about this company personally, but it says that Armadillo Roofing was founded in 2003 (and incorporated in 2006). I don't see anywhere on that web site (granted, I didn't spend much time) where it says the the roofing company has been in business since 1975. Armadillo General Contractors (a parent company, apparently) has on its web site that it has been in business since 1975. Mark is listed as the owner/operator, but not the founder.

Anyway, I don't see any deception there, personally.....

Default http://www.armadillogc.com/main.html

You'll have to cut and past the url into your web browser but it's right there. It does however look like they're building a new website without the "Since 1975" claim. If it was true why wouldn't they still claim that?
