So I thought it might be fun to see Paul McCartney at the Erwin Center, right? I grew up after the Beatles and have never seen any of the former band members perform live. So this could be my last chance to do so.

Tickets start at $475 -- well, figure $500 with all of the incidental charges tacked on -- in the nosebleed section. You know, that part of the Erwin Center where people drag out their binoculars?

I don't even want to mention how much floor seats are. (People on eBay are asking $11,000.)

Does Austin really have that many people who can afford this show? I am beyond disgusted at the starting price point. I understand that Sir Paul is ... well, a Beatle. But there's asking what you're worth, and then there is gouging the public.

This falls into the latter category.

You must be looking at the ticket "packages" which include other things.

The regular tickets start at $49.50, but that doesn't include some of the fees. Use the dropdown here:

They will probably sell out pretty fast tomorrow, though.

I have four tickets that I bought for $248 total - $49.50 face value.

When I clicked on the "add to cart" it said tickets go on sale Friday, April 12 at 10:00am.

I remember the Hanna Montana uproar just before we arrived in '08. You would have thought it was Neil Diamond or somebody.

Y'all have fun with Sir Paul!

Oh, OK! Yeah, the website says that tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. I don't mind the nosebleed section for $50, I guess.

Paul was by far my favorite Beatle, BTW. I was all about George. But not ever having seen any of them play live? It just doesn't seem right.

It's worth the money, I was lucky enough to catch McCartney in concert in the 90's and it was a very good show. He's quite fan friendly, doesn't mind playing the old Beatles/Wings stuff everyone wants to hear.

I tried to buy tickets in the American Express pre-sale at about 1 pm on Tuesday and there was not a pair available at any price level.
