Seems many here are unemployed, underemployed, fear being unemployed, or just in general cutting back.

I thought it would be helpful to start a forum with budget tips, suggestions, etc.

How have you made changes in your lifestyle to adjust to the economy?

One thing I do is use the library instead of bookstores. I still like to puruse Barnes & noble, write down the title and ISBN, then usually I can locate it at the library or through inter library loan. Sounds trivial, but when you consider books cost $25+, it does add up.

Also, we've cut out going to restaurants, for an ocassional treat hit buffets, for under $40 we all get what we like, a nice time out.

Well, lets all post our money saving ideas here!

Yes, I shop produce there too. The Asian grocery store in China Town (north Lamar) also sell many things cheaper than other places. I mean food wise.

My grocery store challenge is taking just $10.00 cash with me to the grocery for dinner. Stores are close to my house, so are on my way home from work. Makes me think twice about quantity and how much we really need. Not more any than we'll use that day or maybe the next for lunch, so I don't throw any of it out. I also like Sun Harvest for produce and also for meat. I can ask for the exact amount of meat that we will need, not a pre-packaged quantity.
