You might want to try
Canadians in Austin , a non-profit group that meets up at the Chapparal Ice Center. The group's website is down, but might want to contact the ice rink for more information.
Also, there is a
Canadians in Austin myspace page (which while stale) has individual contact information.
I found an older
thread with 2 Canadians on it (one of whom) seems very active on City-Data, so they probably could point you even more in the right direction.
