Just wondering. When I was a kid we didn't turn it on until May or June-- even if it was 100. Now, my husband turns it on at the drop of a hat. Right now it is 64 and he wants the air on. I wait until I'm dying (well, 79-80 inside) and start considering turning it down to 77 or 76.

I don't know what it will be like for us there, because the air will obviously feel different with some moisture in it, but here we try really hard to make it to April before turning the air on (didn't make it this year
).
We, like you, generally turn it on once it gets to about 80 inside and we also cool it to about 76-77.

During the day we have it set at 80. We can use a ceiling fan if it gets uncomfortable. We have it set to drop to 77 about 7pm and down to 74 at 10pm so we are comfortable for bed. About 1am it goes back to 80 so that it doesn't run all night.

Haven't turned it on yet this year. Even on the hot days there's been a breeze so I've just opened all the windows.

Given in Alaska, that my heater is regularly turned up to heat the house to 75 degrees (bad I know, but I'm tired of freezing all the time), I can't imagine turning on the AC if the temperature is lower than that.

We set ours at 80 degrees. Too hot for most people but I really don't like it colder, neither do the girls. They all carry sweaters all summer long because it's so cold inside everywhere we go.
