I'm currently a supervisor at an ed-pub company in ATL, moving to Austin this summer (where I'll continue to freelance for my current company).

I'd like to move into something F/T, and I know a lot of companies that hub out of Austin (Pearson, Compass, etc.), but are any of them hiring? What I've seen on job boards has not been encouraging, but I wanted an insider's opinion.

How's the job market in general? I've written/edited/contributed to about 30 different TOEFL and general ESL books at middle and secondary levels in my two+ years experience, so I have a pretty solid resume. Just unsure how badly the economic sitch has impacted educational publishing.

Thanks!

I don't know how the market is, but you might also contact Pro Ed Publishers. From talking to one employee, they offer a good work environment. Pro Ed is located on Shoalcreek Blvd in north Austin. I often purchase materials from them.
