Well, we had a sunny day finally, so I figured we needed some sunny pictures. I stopped at Dick Nichols park (which is on Beckett, near the Davis and MoPac area)

This one is one of my favorite oak trees in the park, with the swim center building in the background. The pool is open year round now (and at least slightly heated) and is free (actually, I think my HOA pays a few $s).

These were always my favorite size trees to climb in as a kid. I think I would have a heart attack, now, if my own kids were climbing in there branches. Still, I bet I could still get up there....

The picnic area is off to the right and is a little more shady. The pavillion and volleyball court () are in the background. You can see that the annual leaf 'dump' is still on the ground...

Yep, that's a nice tree. I use to live two blocks away in Beckett Meadows and we still drive to that park occassionally for a walk around the greenbelt and to just hang out while the kids play.

The pool does get a bit crowded for our taste during the summer, but the kids seem to like the mahem of screeching children. It has only recently been opened up for year-round swimming. I think the Bowie swim team practices there in the mornings.

Yep, this is the first year of year-round. They added the 'heating' equipment, but I use the term loosely. My wife likes to swim laps, and the temperature is just about right if you are doing a hard workout. If you are not working hard, you will get quite cool .

They have the pool usually split into three areas..the youngest (weak or non-swimmers), the normal swim area (no floats or buoyancy devices allowed), and the lap area. Yes, the screeching is quite a thing to hear .
