IMO and attracts a bad element.
Our neighbors have a Honda Element, but it looks pretty nice . And if it lowers the value of my neighborhood, I am going to use that to protest my tax appraisal, as well .

We have this rule in my HOA and it's rarely enforced. It doesn't bother me for the most part but there's one car (there's always one) that parks right on a bend so when you drive past you have to pay close attention and squeeze by if there's another car coming.

If you want to park in the street/driveway and have your car broken into that's your right! Not to mention hail damage. During the last bad storm I watched as my neighbor pulled his new car in the garage. He normally parks it in the street.

I don't really have a preference over whether somebody parks in the garage or their driveway as long as they don't block the sidewalk. I actually have more conversations with my neighbors when we're getting into and out of our cars in the driveway. If we all parked in the garage, I probably wouldn't talk to or hang out with my neighbors nearly as much. Many neighborhood barbecues are planned while we're standing in our driveways with our vehicle doors halfway open.

But really, I think people with nicer cars will make room in their garages for parking. Generally people with higher incomes will be more likely to have a $40K Lexus and in turn will be more likely to park it in their garage.

That makes sense.

My car is in the 2-car garage and my husband's car is parked in the driveway. Right now between the strollers and toys, we have too much stuff in the garage to get both of them comfortably in. Even without the junk, we rarely park both cars in the garage. There is so little room to open the door and get out of the car, let alone get a kid (or in our case, 2) out of a carseat - even in a garage with nothing but the cars in it.

Don't have a problem parking in driveways but be considerate when you do it... don't try to squeeze 4+ cars and a boat in your driveway and don't park over the sidewalk.

Sorry, a pet peeve of mine. I can't stand driving through neighborhoods with cars parked in the street and in the driveway. It lowers the value of the neighborhood, IMO and attracts a bad element.
Seriously?!?!?!? When I was growing up, many of my friends were living in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles - homes back in the 1970s went for 500K and above. Almost everyone parked their cars in their driveways. Many even had the those driveways that snaked around their giant front lawn (as a semi circle so that they could park close to the front door). Those houses are all worth well over a million now, so I am guessing parking habits didn't affect home values there.

The one thing that REALLY bugs me is when a neighbor gets testy when you or your guests park on the street in front of their house....as if it were THEIR parking spot!
That happens in 78704 too and it bugs the he!! out of me. During a Christmas Affair or First Tuesday (or is it Thursday? I forget). People put out cones or what have you. It's a PUBLIC STREET. Ok, done.
