Looking for a good quality fresh farmers markets in the ATX area. Anyone know of any that you recommend?
If so, when & where are they held at?

Thanks

I go to the farmers market on Saturday mornings downtown at Republic Square. It's great!

Austin Farmers Market)

They also have one at the Triangle on Wednesdays.

I think there's one South also but I've never been.

There is one at the Tony Berger Center in south Austin. The Sunset Valley Farmers Market, big market, great food.

Search this site, there have been several discussions of farmers markets, there are some in Round Rock too. There are organic vegetable delivery services in Austin as well as many CSAs.

Partial response to your question:

I've noticed that Emerald City Press on Lamar (near 9th) has one or two produce trucks pull up during the week and set up shop.

I can't recommend it since I've never been and don't know the schedule, but it's the closest thing to a FM i've seen in town during the week.

Thanks for the awesome link, THL!!! We are coming into town on Sunday, looking for the new home starting on Monday. Hopefully we can find a few that are good options, and I'd be very happy if I could head back to NY w/a signed contract! (And if I get one for my townhouse in NY too, well, that would just be icing on the cake).

Anyhoo, back on topic - this is a wonderful link, and one I will most certainly be using! I love the idea of a local basket delivery service, and if i can get my meat and veggies from local sources, that will be something I would LOVE to do! Anyone see the documentary Food, Inc? I've cut corn syrup/prepared foods significantly from our diets for a while now, and I'd lvoe to take the next step. Now, I just need to get a house big enough so I can house a deep freezer for half a cow....
