The new road that will connect Lakeway (near Rough Hollow) to Spicewood (Bee Creek Rd) is set to open this Saturday. It's going to cut 12 miles off the trip and eliminate the need to take 71. I read something a few weeks back about a ceremony for the opening this Saturday, but now I can't find the information anywhere. has anyone seen any info about this, and if so, can you post a link. Thanks!

This is great news. I drive by that road every day and I keep waiting for it to open.

According to the city, as I called, they're a couple of months behind.

Really? Is this possible? Where would be? Do you have a map or a link on it?

It's Highland Blvd. If you go down Lakeway Blvd, turn left right by Rough Hollow on Highland. It connects with Bee Creek.

Go to their website. There is a second for updates that gives a map with all the details of the projects.

It's on the west side of Lakeway, going Southwest to 71:

It's called going to the website of the city involved. It's not a Travis County project. It's a City of Lakeway project.

I see nothing to show that this road is set to open anytime soon. I drive by it every day.

Where did the OP learn the opening was imminent?
