In the newspaper it said someone dialed 911 and hung up, which brought deputies to the house.

Every room in the house had pot plants growing in it except the living room and kitchen. Anyone see the TV series Weeds? Very funny show, this sounds a lot like that. http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/home.do

Big Whoop. I hate that we are spending time on this and not more important issues. At least one would be buying local- ha!

I understand the pot demand in Austin needs to be satisfied, but this poor guy must have been incredibly dumb (or uninformed) to set up shop in Williamson county... had he used a home in Pflugerville, he'd probably be looking at 10 years shorter of a prison sentence at least.

You got that right! The last place you want to break the law in central Texas is Williamson Co. They don't play. That guys looking at about 30+ years for possession w/intent to distribute.

Bet you money it was some unwitting Californio who just moved here and doesn't know about Williamson Co.

I wonder if rival weed-dealing gangsters made the 911 call...
In "Weeds" they would have just shot up the place or something.

And here I thought Round Rock was just a boring, white-bread suburb with families and nothing interesting happening

Meanwhile, murderers and rapists get out on parole in less than half that time...

What a waste of taxpayer money.

The paper reported the resident Cong Van Pham, 42, was taken into Federal custody and charges with federal manufacture of marijuana. Does that mean he won't be tried in a Williamson County court?

Depends on whether he'll get a stiffer penalty from the Feds or the State. DEA can always hand the case back over to the state and let Texas prosecute.
