Kidding, I've only seen one tarantula in 41 years of living in Austin, and that was when we lived in the country, a few miles outside of town. I was surprised, even so.

I think he is - I've seen a few, but again, out in the nature preserve close to our neighborhood. They leave you alone. So do the snakes.

YES! I check my shoes every time I go to put them on even though we haven't seen any in this house. The last place we lived, we found 'em everywhere.... pans, light fixtures, shoes, ceiling, sink, tub, clothing, etc. One of our friend's freaked out when one poured out of his box of rice crispies.

Kidding, I've only seen one tarantula in 41 years of living in Austin, and that was when we lived in the country, a few miles outside of town. I was surprised, even so.
