Right, Leslie's a local celeb. Didn't someone here once post that there was a magnet that you could change leslie's outfits (refrigerator magnet) on?

The cockroaches are quite fast & burly. I would put them up against any state's cockroaches with a hefty bet for the win.

I saw them for sale at a "toy store" on South Congress. The salesperson told me that Leslie gets a cut from the proceeds.

Austin is my favorite city to pick on and poke fun at because it just doesn't deliver 75% of the needs that I need met. For a city of 1.5 million it is severely lacking and handicapped.

If you like a super slow/procrastinating culture, very laid back and super weird country folks, eerie hillbillies parading about as intellectuals, hills that people seem to worship, alcoholism, drug problems, in your face politics, segregation of minorities, Anglo conformity, and business trickery then you will love Austin!! If not then stay far far away. Avoid it like a massive pothole.
I think you have a problem confusing "wants" and "needs."

You need food. You need water. You don't need a damn symphony orchestra or a fancy bistro to eat at--those are things you want.

I find it so weird that you think Austin is so severely handicapped when most other reports find Austin to be a thriving town with a lot to offer for a place of its size. It may not be the right vibe for you, but you're so negative toward the city when it's really quite attractive to most sensible people.

ctually, I think the posters were yanking artsyguy's chain, not the OP's, because it was clear to me when I first read the posts referred to that they just knew he wouldn't be able to resist popping in for his usual Austin-bashing.

It's my opinion that artsyguy's problems with Austin (though there are some real problems with Austin, no place is perfect, even those with gay ghettos like he wants so dearly) have more to do with artsyguy himself than they do with the city. Which is, of course, often the case - not all places can be all things to all people, else we'd all live in the same place and wouldn't that be a mess!
