I can't figure Artsguy out. I lived in a city for a couple of years that I grew to despise and so I moved to a city I loved, Austin. I now spend my free time getting to know my new city, not on online boards constantly bashing my previous city.

The reasons we moved to and love Austin are in no particular order:

1) friendly people
2) great nightlife
3) 9 months of good weather and 3 months that drive everyone to the pool or lake
4) very affordable when compared to our other choice(So Cal)
5) low crime
6) a clean/new feel to the city
7) easy access to beautiful and fun Lake Travis
8) awesome shopping choices
9) Texas pro business/smart fiscal policy economic climate
10) Easy access to all that Dallas, SA, and Houston have to offer

The fact that Artsguy is so negative about a city that so many find so positive tells me a lot about Artsyguy. It sounds like Austin improved a little more the day Artsyguy packed his bags and left.

The people are great, the city is very clean, there are some really cool neighborhoods, and the vibe is very tolerant and laid-back.

Yeah, we had on on our refrigerator until the kids got old enough to start asking questions about it.

I have it here at work!

(and when my kid gets old enough to ask questions about it, I will explain to him/her that not everyone is the same and that some fellas like to wear ladies' clothing. Kids are a lot more understanding and accepting than adults of stuff like that)
