Curious about how many people don't have anything lined up prior to moving to Austin....

Inthecut, didn't you start a thread very similar to this in April?

G Grasshopper, I was thinking the same exact thing.

I have the same answer, I'm waiting to get a teaching job and I think I got one. Just waiting for the official say so. Then I'm on my way.

I did indeed......I was curious how things were standing now, three months later....I do notice that there are far fewer new relo queries now, so that seems to be saying a few things.....folks are more conservative per moving ANYWHERE without something lined up, our companies may be slowing down per hiring out of area, creating less relo demand as well.....I also see less out-of-state license plates on my 5 mile jogging loop through the local residential neighborhood, my own little rule of thumb....

Sorry If anyone was bothered about the "requery"...note that there was no response on the thread, which also seems indicative of a newcomer slowdown......I think these net threads speak volumes more than any surveys or such per internal migration movements in the US.....

Am I wrong? I'm very open to comments/correction......

"Fewer relo queries?" I have not noticed a decrease?

This thread already exists and I believed you started it. You are sounding like a broken record again.

No, I am at home with my son this summer. I have too much of a conscience to surf the web when I am working.... that, and I would get sucked in and never get any real work done. My husband is the same way, won't even check personal email or facebook while at work.
